Rael Ginsburg & Howard Bate

Rael is a visionary in the world of technology and innovation, driven by an insatiable curiosity and a passion for transforming industries through the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and neural networks. With over 25 years of experience as a software engineer, developer and entrepreneur, he has been at the forefront of developing cutting-edge solutions that push the boundaries of what is possible in the realm of future technology.
From an early age, Rael was fascinated by how things work. He would eagerly take apart gadgets and electronics, driven by an innate desire to understand their inner workings. This curiosity laid the foundation for his future career, where he would go on to pioneer groundbreaking advancements in technology.
Rael's enterprising spirit led him to co-found ventures that revolutionized various industries. As a co-founder of a leading interactive gaming company, he developed innovative online and mobile platforms that leveraged technology to create a completely new gaming experience and engagement tool. The successful multi-million dollar sale to a subsidiary of a leading company, was a testament to his innovative approach and commitment to excellence.
In 2008, Rael founded Iceburg Capital, a company dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the world of technology. As the Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer, he led the company's efforts to develop innovative solutions that transformed industries and empowered users to make informed decisions.

Howard is an accomplished and results-driven business leader with over 40 years of international experience in construction, engineering, and consultancy. Noteworthy throughout his career is a proven ability to exceed expectations and build successful businesses from the ground up. This is exemplified by his work in establishing multi-disciplinary consultancy Mott MacDonald's presence in Africa, growing it from a small operation to a team of 800 across 40 countries in just 6 years. He is skilled in strategic planning, business development, team leadership, and fostering lasting client relationships.
Howard's career includes significant tenures at Mott MacDonald, where he held various board positions and leadership roles, including Strategic Development Director - Global, Development Director for Europe, Russia & Africa, and Regional Director for Africa. As Strategic Development Director, he was tasked with driving an increased portfolio of international work, specifically targeting Africa, Asia, Australia, and North America.
A key achievement was Howard's orchestration of a global partnership with EY, formerly known as Ernst & Young. Developing and managing this worldwide alliance with such a significant corporation honed Howard's skills in strategic alliance management, negotiation, and cross-cultural collaboration.
Howard in his earlier years joined Crow Maunsell Management Consultants in Hong Kong, where he was seconded to McKinsey & Company as a member of the team appointed to reconfigure the Hong Kong Government’s approach to managing its Capital Works Programme in readiness for the handover to the Chinese in 1997. Furthermore, he has founded and managed several companies, including Howard Pacific Limited in Hong Kong and Construction Time Control SA in Spain.
Throughout his career, Howard has demonstrated an ability to drive growth, manage complex projects, and build sustainable relationships with stakeholders across diverse markets. He is adept at navigating cultural sensitivities, implementing strategic initiatives, and ensuring operational excellence which he continues to do within his current role as Founder of The Quantum Institute.
Together with their team of associates at QI, Rael and Howard operate across industry, academia, government, civil society and the natural environment, focusing on the fastest-growing sectors and essential skills for the future.
